Poetry

By Taylor Miller
Poetry comes in all different types, shapes and sizes, languages and words.
Poetry for me relieves stress and is really fun to write especially when you’re trying to get stuff off of your mind.
Words are a big part of poetry I think it’s because all poetry is different, as the writer is too. I like the poems that are deep and inspiring, some rhyme, some don’t; there's sweet poetry, romantic poetry, some make you wanna laugh some make you wanna cry.

If you’re trying to write poetry you could try some of these, there is couplet, cinquain, limerick, haiku, diamante and concrete, a couplet poem is really easy to write it only has two lines with an end rhyme.
Cinquain poems do not rhyme it has five lines and a certain number of words or syllables in each. Haiku's are an old form of Japanese poetry that has seventeen syllables and usually has nature as its subject or theme, haiku poems are super short and has a five, seven, five syllable structure, five syllables in the first line, seven syllables in the second line, five syllables in the third line. with just a couple of words haiku conveys a lot of emotion. it suggest that the reader look and listen to the world.

The only two poems that consist into a shape are diamante and concrete, diamante forms a diamond, concrete forms a half circle. I think poetry brings out the best and people and definitely their own voice, people should take the time to get out their emotions and what’s better than putting all your thoughts onto paper and turning your emotions to beautiful writing.
